Prologue
We see all kinds of Bark + Riders—mountain bikers, gravel hounds, cargo biking canines, and sportsack seniors. It's incredible to witness the bonds created between riders and their dogs in so many different ways. But training your trail dog can be tricky with all these riding styles!
When we introduced Harris, our German Wirehaired Pointer, to biking, we quickly learned that his love for chasing the fastest biker down the trail extended to anything that looked like it could run. After a lot of work, he's become an awesome trail dog, and we’ve learned some key lessons along the way.
To create an amazing trail dog (after all, they’re for life), it all starts with the hours spent together, building a strong bond. With patience, passion, and consistent training, you too can have a lifelong, adventure-filled partnership with your dog.
