Designing with Purpose: From Gazebo to Garment with Scott Burnett

At Bark + Ride Sports, design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about storytelling, purpose, and connection to the outdoors. That’s why when it came to creating a centrepiece for our event space, and the motif for one of our most loved garments, we turned to a trusted creative mind: Scott Burnett.

You may recognise Scott’s name from our Organic Vegan Long Sleeved Tee—the one featuring the striking, nature-inspired motif that’s become a quiet icon among our community of outdoor dog lovers. His artwork captures not just a look, but a feeling: the bond between rider and dog, the quiet majesty of the trails, and our deep respect for nature.

Last year, we took that creative synergy a step further when we commissioned Scott to help us design a custom gazebo. This wasn’t your average event tent. We wanted something that would represent the Bark + Ride brand at markets, pop-ups, and events—a beacon that would draw in like-minded adventurers and spark conversation. And Scott delivered. With bold lines, natural textures, and clever nods to the landscapes that inspire us, the gazebo became more than shelter—it became a symbol.

Both the gazebo and our long-sleeved tee are testaments to our belief in thoughtful design. Whether it’s wearable or walk-under-able, we want everything we create to feel grounded in the wild places we love—and the talented people who help us bring them to life.

So next time you see us at an event under our signature canopy, or spot someone wearing that tee on a trail, you’ll know the story behind the art—and the artist who helped us tell it.
